"how can anyone plan for the next owners when nobody knows who they will be?"

Erm... by making a PLAN where you try and find suitable owners? Or you just force them out and just hope that they don't sell up to the next Carson Yeung.

Gold is possibly the biggest liar of the 3 - which is some achievement. He gets a pass because he's old and bangs on about 442 green street.

as for the plan - how can anyone plan for the next owners when nobody knows who they will be?

the current owners are among the worst in the business, I salute anyone who spend their own time & effort to try and get rid of them.

why would you not unless you think they have done a good job?

So Straw, no plan, no answers, no idea just abuse. Just like the protest to date.

Nope, only 3 people are responsible for that.

You crack on though mate, if you're happy with your lot then I dread to think what the state of your personal life is like. You must be totally walked over at every turn. And as for slagging off the blokes who are actually trying to do something about these parasites, well that just shows you up for the prick you are.

The things you write are very suspect to say the least. At least we all now know which side your bread is buttered. Wanker.

Which is my point.

Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
The straw Gold I personally don’t mind, Sullivan is and always has been a border line crook. Brady is all image and no substance. So yes I guess from that you’d make me part of the fan club. But people like you Straw love to divide the fans don’t you. You either have to be for the owners or against them. They are owners, their money not your money or my money bought the club. And if they hadn’t bought the club when they did we might have folded. Air Asia Tony he wouldn’t have worked out better would he?
So where has protesting got us? Where is it going to get us? I’ve seen the powerpoint presentations of demands and actions and all they’ve suggested is a) there is no plan and b) whoever wrote it couldn’t even be bothered to spell check it.
All for freedom of expression and protesting. But perhaps those that have organized the protesting to date need to fess up and admit they’ve achieved ZIP and that they’ve never once advanced any plan that is anything else other than getting rid of the current owners. So you get rid of them and then what?
Plenty of supporters work in the City and know people with money who might have contacts and ideas. But lets keep shouting obscenities at the Directors box.

Have said before that if an oil rich owner bought us that a car that ran on air would be invented the next day.

Havent seen a price for Man U lately but Arsenal turned down £1.8bn from the Spotify guy.
A London based club at a fraction of that price with real estate attached should be attractive given the other city options are:
Arsenal - reluctant sellers at a high price
Chelsea- owned by a gangster to attempt to gain some legitimacy
Spurs - owned by people 'incompatible' with their Arabness

Here he is, PL with his 'i'm no fan of the board' schtick whilst blatantly talking complete bollocks trying to convince people that protesting is a bad idea. People would respect you more if you just admitted to liking them. Fess up.

Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
The reason there aren’t any successful British owners at the moment is that they don’t have the money to compete with Middle Eastern states. The Leicester owners have done well but as their main asset is owning the duty free franchise in Thai airports one would imagine that Covid has hurt them. They might not have the deep pockets going forward. Its also lives on the Thai government allowing that monopoly.
As for the Qatar that’s a pretty big bet that they are interested. Oil and natural gas is the underpinning of their economies and fossil fuels are starting to feel the impact of other energies. I live in a country where oil and coal produce, or used to produce, most of the foreign currency earnings. Those earnings over the past few years have been going down. That would be classic West Ham, getting a new owner who has a business model that goes bang. Remember the Icelandic's and their Structured Credit Businesses?
And any Middle Eastern buyer is going to be going head to head with the Mansour franchise of which there’s likely one one winner. If you want to compete with him, then you buy out the Glaziers.
Plus every time there’s a pitch invasion at Stratford, every time there’s a video on Youtube about someone cussing out Gold, every time there a protest march potential owners don’t go ‘I’ll have a bit of that’.
There are potential buyers for the club, but they know the owners are strapped for cash at the moment and because of that they’ll wait but no amount of protests is going to make that happen earlier.
Enjoy what has been a good season.Enjoy Europe. Hope that we get some decent transfer funds - and my bet is we’ll spend more than most. If you must make ‘V’ signs at Sullivan and have rude chants about Brady. Let Gold alone, he’s sick. Just enjoy the moment. The priority isn’t making things more toxic.

Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
Who would most regard as the most successful and benign owners at the moment?
Leicester & Man City probably
Is there a successful English owner at ANY club?

GSB ran Birmingham for 15 years and us for coming up 11 years. 26 years of nothing on the pitch except increased personal wealth.
Their endgame is getting control of the stadium and selling.
I think any serious Arab buyer (lets say QATARI'S) would want to buy the real estate ... probably the stadium, the Olympic park & Westfield to go with owning a fair bit of Canary Wharf.
After the 2022 World Cup I suspect they be open to a London based club .... as long as property comes with it.

Lee Trundle 4:10 Wed May 26
Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
I've always suggested those working on getting GSB out should put their efforts into who the next owner could be, rather putting in any effort on pushing GSB out (which I don't think would happen).

I'm more worried that they'll sell us to someone even worse than they are, rather than them keeping ownership.

ParadiseLost 4:09 Wed May 26
Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
SR so after the most successful season in 22 years and qualifying for Europe now the priority is increase the toxicity at the ground?
I’m no big fan of the owners but I’ve never understood what the protests are trying to achieve. They own the club so the concept of ‘sack the board’ was laughable. As for them getting out, which must mean selling up that means having someone, and someone better, to buy them out. Who is that? Or is the idea that they just need to sell out to anyone whatever the price? Are you going to be happier with an American owner, a Chinese owner, a Russian owner? Are they going to ‘listen to the fans’ or just see it as a money making exercise/money laundering enterprise/ability to raise debt by leveraging the club into bankruptcy?
These programs of getting owners out through ‘fan power’ don’t have a great record of success. Is Ashley still at Newcastle? Have the Glaziers even blinked?
Before going back and protesting perhaps its time to actually work out a strategy which is based on something more chanting obscenities at two old ( if probably unpleasant) men.
GSB out fine. But what’s the In part?

On The Ball 3:53 Wed May 26
Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
There's no way on the planet they'd entrust him with such an asset. The women's team is worth £0, so that's not a gamble. I definitely wouldn't rule out them giving him a job at the Club (that's not based on any knowledge, by the way), but they just wouldn't put him in charge. Too much money at risk.

Sven Roeder 3:34 Wed May 26
Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
The idea of some unqualified moronic velvet slipper wearing CHILD running a multi million pound business is complete nonsense really.
GSB-OUT needs to be ramped up once we are back in the stadium and the lives of all of them made an absolute misery.

the only good thing is if he took over, like any kid with lots of money, he will try to be flash and splash the cash and prove us all wrong by buying big players?

ParadiseLost 1:55 Wed May 26
Re: Jack Sullivan steps down
Like any business the Club should have a defined succession plan. Gold has not been well for sometime. Sullivan is younger but not a young man. If they were both to pass (or incapacitated) that would be a huge issue for the club. The thought of Jack negotiating with the likes of Levy is frightening, but it is at least a plan.
